VitaHealth Vita Green Lipped Mussel Oil is derived from green-lipped mussel native from New Zealand. It is a good source of omega-3s, omega-6s, phospholipids and sterols. The omega-3s (DHA, EPA, ETA) have been shown to exert anti-inflammatory activity that helps maintain healthy joint mobility. These phospholipids-bound omega-3s are better absorbed and utilized by the body. Eicosatetraenoic acid (ETA), found only in green-lipped mussel, is greater than EPA in reducing inflammation in joints. It acts as dual inhibitors of pro-inflammatory pathways, blocking cyclooxygenase (COX) and lipoxygenase (LOX) pathways that cause inflammation.
