With this lens adapter, you can mount lenses with M42 screw mount on the Contax Yashica (C/Y) SLR cameras.

When using the adapter mount, please take note of the following issues:

1. Though it assists focusing, Autofocus (AF) is not available;

2. Stop-down metering is used. Spot metering mode does not work properly.

3. Although it is possible to use the A (aperture-priority AE) mode in auto exposure, the aperture display is not available.

4. In the P (Program AE), or S (Shutter speed-priority AE) mode, the shutter releases, but the auto exposure control does not work.

5. The distance scale on the M42 lens may not indicate the actual distance. Always use the viewfinder for focusing.

For using Contax / Yashica body cameras with M42 lenses (Zeiss, Pentax, Praktica, Mamiya, Zenit). Metric scale M42 keeps its meanings due to compensation of the flange bases difference. Therefore focusing can be to infinity.

You should remember that the pusher with the fixed ring doesn’t work, so diaphragm control of the lens is set manually. This adapter can work with lenses having both only automatic diaphragm (A) and selector A/M (automatic/manual diaphragm). It is possible to use Macro rings and other accessories.

Settings:

Put red marks on outer and inner rings of the adapter with red mark on the lens collar together.

Turn outer ring clockwise till the fixative click.

Set M42 lens.

Jolos TM Mount Adapter FD/M42 Removing:

To remove the adapter you should unpress fixative pin and turn the adapter anticlockwise.

You can use a small pin to help to remove the adapter from camera.
