IMMEDIATELY!!Keep this on hand for cold sores and use right away! If you have to wait to go to the store and buy it, it’s probably already too late. In November I started to develop a cold sore. I had not had one in a couple years so I didn’t have anything on hand to treat it. It was Sunday morning so I took some time to do some research until the stores opened. I found this was available at a close location and I made my way there after they opened. By this time the cold sore had time to grow and it was too late. Yes it kept my lips moisturized during that horrible week, but that was it. SECOND TIME WAS THE CHARM. About a month later I saw a tiny little bump forming on my lip just before I went to bed. I put a big gob of the ointment on and went to bed as I said a little prayer for this to work. To my amazement in the morning it was gone! Now fast forward to yesterday I woke up and my lip felt weird. Sure enough I saw a tiny bump when I looked in the mirror. I put on my gob and prayed and when I got back up an hour later to get in the shower before work it wasn’t gone, but it wasn’t worse. (Full disclosure on my drive to work I used a drug store product that is white just in case. I’m desperate since I had an important meeting that day). Had to wipe off the white product when I arrived at work and put on the lysine. Kept up with this every couple hours reapplying another small dab of lysine. Last night and today I have kept up with the applications but the bump is no longer there. I always apply with a new q tip so I don’t contaminate the jar of ointment. Was this review helpful? Let me tell you the truth.... It is equal in my book as carmex. I got my cold sore last Wednesday. I immediately felt it coming on so i started searching Google for a remedy as to when I came across this product. I went to GNC (as this page says they carry it) and they dont have it, only the pill form you take daily to prevent. Was told if i saw it on-line i will probably need to order it online. Who has time for that. So i drove to another GNC, didnt have it. Drove to another and thankfully they carried it. He said in the winter months he always makes sure to stock up on it because it is awesome for chapped lips. I asked about cold sores and he said yes, it will h
