AHC (Aesthetic Hydration Cosmetics) is a cosmeceutical skincare range developed in Korea, and is available through skincare clinics, dermatologists and plastic surgery clinics. The range is based on phytoscience that utilises natural plants’ ingredients to revitalise with skin-friendly ingredients.
I was invited to try the Hydra B5 Soother, a hydrating serum that’s rich in Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin B5 and extracts from Portulaca Oleracea and Kava Kava – which soothe and rehydrate sensitive skin.

The texture is a viscous liquid (like a gel texture) and one dropper dispenses is a generous amount of serum that is enough for your entire face, neck and decolletage. Initially it feels like massaging a viscous gel serum, but it absorbs quickly when massaged into skin and leaves a slight sticky finish that goes away once you follow with moisturiser.
Results
It’s one of the most hydrating serums I’ve tried that actually softens skin texture and calms skin sensitivities caused by dehydration. My skin type is dry and I tested this serum in the last month of winter, so my skin soaked up this serum like a delicious drink.
As testament to how hydrating it is, I’ve not needed to top up with a mid-week hydrating mask and can last the whole week in air conditioning & dry winds until my Sunday mask routine. Another proof point is that Clinique CC Cream and Body Shop Moisture White Shiso BB Cream – both of which were previously too drying for me – now glide so smoothly and seamlessly over this serum that they have now become my daily base makeup staples.
