The blade is made from tool steel and then hardened to RC 45. The blades are stitched with a CNC machine which produces a uniform tooth pattern and height allowing for a steady removal rate and an even finish. This is considered a coarse cut rasp with 16 teeth per square centimeter. The handle is 5 3/4 inch long, 1 1/2 inches in diameter and has a solid brass ferrule. Handle is made hard and dense Hornbeam. Blade is 16 mm (5/8'') wide by 5 mm (3/16'') thick and 150 mm (6'') long. Overall length is 295 mm (12''). This is a well-made rasp for a very reasonable price.
