Super Lutein Ingredients 6 Main Carotenoids 5 Essentials Nutrients
1) Lutein - A nutrient existing in the macular area of the eyes and skin
Lutein is a pigment ranging from yellow to orange; this carotenoid is present in the eyes and skin and cannot be produced by our body. It is found in dark green leafy vegetables such as kale and spinach. Due to its strong antioxidant capacity, excessive oxidation of lipids which is harmful to the retina can be prevented. Also, it is thought that lutein has the effect of absorbing blue light which can also cause retinal damage.
-Improve vision, protect Retinal, Presbyopia , Dry eye, Floaters -Reduce cataract, glaucoma , macular degeneration, etc. -Improve Constipation, Haemorrhoids, Irritable Bowel Syndrome -Improve women’s health (menstrual pain, vaginal discharge, uterine fibroids) -Slow down degeneration of brain
2) Zeaxanthin - Existing mainly in the central macula of the eye, similar to lutein
Zeaxanthin is an orange-yellow colour pigment which is similar in nature to lutein. It can be found in papaya, corn and Japanese Fuyu persimmon, and it is also abundant in green tea, egg yolk, and animal fat and liver. Metabolised lutein converts to zeaxanthin. It has been confirmed that zeaxanthin exists in the central yellow spot (macula lutea) of our eyes as lutein does. However, recent studies have found that its concentration in the retina is different: the central macula has a higher proportion of zeaxanthin, and the ratio of lutein is higher at the peripheral area
3) Crocetin - A kind of carotenoid which is oil and water soluble
Crocetin is a dark orange pigment found in the gardenia fruit or stigma of saffron. It has amphipathic properties and dissolves in both water and oil. One of its importance properties is that because of its small molecule size, it can be absorbed quickly and efficiently by the body. Researches around the world are paying particular attention to its antioxidant capacity, as it can reach body tissues which other carotenoids cannot.
-750kg of cape jasmine fruit can only provide 1kg of crocetin -Crocetin has a very small structure -Both water and oil soluble - Easy to be absorbed by human body -Improve Blood Circulation -Relieves fatigue -Improves quality of sleep and memory
4) Lycopene - The red pigment with a strong antioxidant effect found in tomatoes
It is said that lycopene is needed to protect tomatoes from sunlight while it ripens by absorbing the sun's rays. In Europe, the saying goes "when the tomato is red, the doctor's face is green". Tomatoes have long been thought to aid our physical health. Nowadays, it is known that lycopene has a strong antioxidant effect similar to lutein. Lycopene can be more easily absorbed by the body from processed food better than from fresh vegetables and fruits. Lycopene's absorption rate is higher if it is cooked with oil as it is fat-soluble.
5 & 6) Alpha & Beta Carotene - Provitamin A is converted to vitamin A in the body
These are yellow and orange pigments found in carrots and pumpkins. Due to its high safety factor it has been used as colouring for food, beverages and cosmetics. These carotenoids convert into vitamin A which is needed by the body, and are therefore widely studied. Prior to conversion, carotene has a strong antioxidant effect. As a nutritional supplement, B-carotene has been proven to have the following functions:
-Helps maintain night vision -Helps maintain healthy skin and mucosa -Improve pancreas function to produce insulin -Improve diabetes -Aid in preventing and lowering risk of getting heart & cardiovascular artery diseases -Strengthen bone structure & density -Prevention of osteoporosis -Cleanse lung toxic -Improve various skin symptom (skin allergy, dermatitis, urticaria, psoriasis) -Improves skin condition and reduce wrinkles
Other added nutrients
1) Anthocyanin A blue-violet pigment that is a type of polyphenol
Anthocyanins are blue-violet pigments found in blackcurrants and blueberries. A type of polyphenol, anthocyanins were the first to gain prominence among phytochemicals. Research on its properties was inspired by an anecdote from World War II, where a British pilot reportedly attributed his excellent vision, even in the dark, to his love of blueberry jam.
2) DHA Found abundantly in fish and essential to the development of brain and nerve tissue
DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is an unsaturated fatty acid found abundantly in fish oil and is known for its nutritional value for growing children. It is also found in breast milk and in all cells, especially those in the brain, where it plays a significant role in cerebral formation. It is said that the traditional fish-based diet of the Japanese is the main contributing factor to their longevity. There seems to be a close relationship between DHA and a healthy life.
3) Vitamins B1, B2, B6, and B12 Water-soluble nutrients that are essential for generating energy
We generate energy necessary to carry out daily activities from protein, carbohydrates, and fats – the three major nutritional substances contained in our food. B group vitamins act as a coenzyme in this process. They are also water-soluble. B group vitamins are essential nutrients to maintain our overall health.
4) Vitamin E A vitamin that helps to prevent oxidation in our body
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin that is known to play a role as an antioxidant in the body. It is believed that taking it during a meal with some fats in it will allow optimal absorption.
