The RXA1020 is part of Yamaha's flagship Aventage range, aimed at discovering the best listening experience yet. With the A-1020, you get a powerful and feature rich home cinema AV receiver, 4K upscaling and pass-through, 3D and 1080p capability and advanced network connectivity - it plays content from a huge range of sources and presents it all with panache.
It's not always possible to place your centre speaker in the ideal postion - the result is that the all important dialogue performance suffers. The new range of Aventage offers Dialogue Lift and Dialogue Level Adjustment - noticeably improving the dialogue and making films, sports commentary etc. more enjoyable and realistic. The HDMI Zone B means that you can now stream audio and video to another room. The new Subwoofer Trim reduces low frequency overlap with your front speakers - allowing for a cleaner more precise presentation.
Also new for Aventage, including the RX-A1020, is Airplay, for wireless playback from your Apple devices, Mac or PC. The 1020 plays back from iPods, iPads and iPhones (over Airplay, or via the front USB port), which also, along with Android phones, can be used to control the receiver. Connect it to your network and you can control it from networked computers, stream content from DLNA certified devices (such as computers, laptops and network attached storage (NAS) devices) and - with a broadband connection - listen to internet radio. Digital music will sound better than ever, too, thanks to the RXA1020's Compressed Music Enhancer, which restores compressed files back towards their original sound quality.
The rigid chassis, additional bottom frames and fifth foot under the center of the A1020 reduce vibration of the chassis, while the symmetrical power layout reduces magnetic interference, all ensuring a better, purer audio and visual performance. The aluminium front panel lends a touch of class to it's appearance and also sheilding the internal electronics from external interference. It's not fussy, either, flexible enough to be partnered with most kit.
The RXA1020 provides eight 1080p compatible HDMI inputs (including one on the front, ideal for quickly connecting digital cameras or camcorders) and 2 outputs (enabling simultaneous connection of a TV and projector) - plenty of connectivity for all your devices. Yamaha's YPAO set-up microphone will ensure an optimised sound for your rooms acoustics, while Reflected Sound Control eliminates poor sound that reflected off walls and other surfaces.
