Our filters are unique

All Filtrete™ Air Cleaning Filters are electrostatically* charged. As air passes through the filter, airborne particles are attracted to and captured by the filter's pleated fabric. Our electrostatic filters capture both large and small particles**— down to 0.3 microns in size.

This is different from fiberglass, washable, and non-electrostatic pleated filters, which have no charge. Without electrostatic properties, these other filters can't capture the smaller particles as effectively.

It's a fact: Filtrete filters outperform all fiberglass, washable and non-electrostatic 1" residential air filters. Our premium filters help remove allergens from the air, including smoke, smog, and even microscopic particles that can carry viruses, bacteria and odours.**

Microparticle Performance Rating (MPR)

3M developed the Microparticle Performance Rating (MPR) system to demonstrate a filter's ability to capture the smallest airborne particles—from 0.3 to 1 micron in size from the air passing through the filter. The MPR system helps you compare Filtrete filters based on the level of air filtration you want. The higher the MPR, the better the filter's ability to capture particles from the air as it passes through the filter.

MPR is different from MERV, the Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value. The MERV system measures a filter's ability to capture large particles. The MPR only takes into account the tiny microscopic particles between 0.3 and 1 microns.

When it lights up, it means it is now time to replace a new filter. (For an average indoor room condition, that will be approximately around 2000 hours of usage.)

The steps to replace the filter are as follows -

  1. Turn OFF the air purifier and unplug it from the power outlet.
  2. Carefully lay down the unit on a flat surface with the front grille facing up.
  3. Push in on the release button on both the sides of the unit and swing out the front grille.
  4. Remove the old filter and replace with the new filter.
  5. Reposition the front grille.
  6. Reset the filter timer by holding the button until the Filter Indicator turns off.
