Product Description
TRIPP LITE SU3000RTXL3UN 3000VA 2400W UPS Smart Online Rackmount 110V/120V USB SNMP 3U
Tripp Lite’s SU3000RTXL3UN UPS system provides the best protection available for servers, network/telecom hardware, and other critical equipment that requires continuously regulated power and battery backup to guarantee uninterrupted operation. True on-line operation with AC-to-DC-to-AC double conversion isolates equipment from power problems and delivers ideal AC output 24x7. Pure sine wave output and zero transfer time to battery ensure that sensitive electronics will continue to operate reliably during power failures. The UPS system packs a 3kVA power module and internal batteries into a compact 3U rack cabinet to provide high load capacity in minimal rack space. It includes enough internal battery capacity to keep critical equipment operating through most power failures, and optional external battery packs provide unlimited runtime scalability. Economy mode operation saves energy, reduces heat output, and lowers operating costs while continuing to provide mission-critical protection. Built-in communication ports and a preinstalled SNMP accessory card provide remote management capability over the IP network, including centralized management with Tripp Lite’s free PowerAlert software. Built to exacting standards with high-quality components, the UPS system is backed by a 2-year product warranty and $250,000 Ultimate Lifetime Insurance for connected equipment.

The SU3000RTXL3UN UPS system uses true on-line operation with AC-to-DC-to-AC double conversion to condition input power before it reaches critical equipment. Double conversion technology continually converts incoming AC power into filtered DC power, then converts it back into regulated AC power. Double conversion isolates equipment from power failures (aka blackouts), sags/undervoltages (aka brownouts), swells/overvoltages, surges, line noise, harmonic distortion, electrical impulses, and frequency variations. The UPS system can correct a wide range of input voltages, regulating output voltage within 2% of nominal and complying with international standards for voltage- and frequency-independent operation. It does this without switching to battery power. This is important because it reduces wear and tear on the internal batteries, extending their service life. It also preserves the battery charge for outages. The SU3000RTXL3UN’s large internal battery set provides 14 minutes of battery support for a half load (1200 watts) and 5 minutes for a full load (2400 watts).
The UPS system generates pure sine wave power at all times, even when operating from battery. Sine wave power is required for certain types of equipment (such as devices with active PFC power supplies). Sine wave power can also prevent other types of sensitive equipment from malfunctioning, running poorly, or operating at elevated temperatures that can degrade performance and damage components. RJ45 jacks also provide surge/noise protection for a single phone or Ethernet line. No matter what your power line throws at you—rolling blackouts, industrial power fluctuations, dangerous transient voltages—your equipment will continue to receive reliable power and your critical systems will stay up and running around the clock.
The SU3000RTXL3UN UPS system supports economy mode operation to save energy and reduce operating costs. While input power quality is good, the UPS operates with maximum efficiency. If input power quality worsens, the UPS immediately provides maximum protection through double conversion. Operating in economy mode can increase efficiency as much as 10 percent compared to traditional on-line UPS systems (i. e. 95 percent versus 85 percent). Replacing 80kVA of legacy UPS capacity with UPS systems running in economy mode can save more than $10,000 per year. That represents an energy savings of 100 megawatt-hours of electricity, which is enough to power nine typical U. S. homes. (Actual savings may be more or less, depending on the application and local utility costs. ) Regardless of the application, economy mode can make your data center cooler, greener, and more cost-effective. The SU300RTXL3UN’s economy mode option offers enhanced 98 percent efficiency operation, reduced power consumption and lower BTU emissions.
The SU3000RTXL3UN UPS system’s control panel LEDs show operating conditions at a glance, including load level and battery charge level. The UPS system also supports standalone remote management (without a host computer) through its preinstalled SNMPWEBCARD. The SNMPWEBCARD provides an Ethernet connection for IP network monitoring and control via SNMP, Web, SSH, or telnet, including centralized remote management through Tripp Lite’s free PowerAlert software or a third-party network management system. The UPS system also has a USB port and a DB9 serial port that can connect to a networked computer for local management.

Internal and optional external batteries can be removed and replaced without disruption. UPS batteries last 3 to 5 years under normal conditions. When the time comes to replace the UPS system’s internal batteries, convenient front-panel battery access and hot-swappable battery support make the entire operation quick, easy, and non-disruptive. The batteries are fully field replaceable while the UPS system is mounted in the rack, without powering down the UPS or any connected equipment. The internal hot-swappable batteries can support equipment long enough to outlast most outages, while providing ample time for backup generators to start up during extended blackouts. For extended-run applications or adverse power conditions that require additional battery capacity, you can connect as many external battery packs as you need to provide the runtime required.
