The turquoise side is as bright as it was before washing so that is the side that faces up on my bed. If I had wanted a solid color quilt I would not have purchased this bright floral print. I am very disappointed and I do not recommend this set to anyone. It was a waste of money and now I have to purchase another. I have not washed my quilt and I am sure that it will fade and the red is more pink than one would hope for. I change my style about every year or 2, for now my friends are WOWED at the new and I enjoy the raves. It is what I wanted and the teal shams to the back are nice, they are an extra set of the shams that came with the set, flipped. The reverse side is a beautiful teal/turquoise and really adds to the bedding. The shams are large and have two ties in the back. When I opened the box my heart skipped a beat it is so beautiful. The colors are the same as the picture only brighter. It is nice and warm but not heavy. It is all cotton so I won't have to worry when it comes time to wash it. I'd like to include a helpful hint, I always wash my nice cotton things in warm water and never put them in the dryer, that includes tee shirts. The set looks stu
