A graduate of the both the Limerick school of art and design Ireland and the advanced pottery skills course Kilkenny Ireland, award winning ceramic artist Brid Lyons is the owner and curator of Clay Creations Ceramic Studio. In 2001, after a number of years working for some of Irelands leading pottery studios, Brid set up her own studio.

Brid saw a market for quality original designed handmade ceramic products. In 2001 Brid introduced her 1920s sculptural Ladies to the market receiving wide acclaim from both the public and her peers. These unique pieces have become widely sought after both at home in Ireland and Internationally. Popular with both the general public and collectors each piece is unique and hand-thrown and finished by Brid in her workshop. Inspired by the closeness of Art and Nature, Brid has developed these pieces to have an almost cartoon like life and are not always anatomically correct. Her pieces have their own originality and distinct features so that they can become a focal point for collectors that will grow in both appreciation and value.

In 2016 Brid won the prestigious award for Craft Business of the Year at the annual Kilkenny Chamber Business Awards.
