Lots of portable entertainment and music systems are on the market, but VideoNow is the only one that plays a whole series of collectible, short-play DVDs (which are dubbed Personal Video Discs, or PVDs). One of those PVDs features 25 minutes of footage on Eric Koston, the master skateboard designer and professional boarder. Kids get to see how he conceptualizes a killer skateboard, and the theory behind some of his cool moves when the wheels start turning. It’s very cool to watch and learn, but keep in mind that the PVD is only about as long as a half-hour TV show, and will be exciting to kids with lots of interests for only so long. --Diane Beall
