Both the mat and the mount board are handmade of off-white creamy mat - for better contrast and details of the photograph.

An off-white mat board is considered de rigeur by the conservative photography community. The bright white mats are over-powered by the brightness which makes everything else in the scene darker and harder to see. This is same if you''re watching into the bright source of light - you lose the contrast and details of the other part of the scene.

Artist Statement
Human vision can only detect individual moments. Photographing with different exposures, we are able to capture a series of moments on a single shot - the movement will blur or freeze, clouds can streak, stars trace their arcs and falling rain creates a unique atmosphere. The resulting photograph has more of an elastic feeling, as if time were stretched and then snapped back into a single instant.
