Agmatine is a byproduct of Arginine that is produced through a process called decarboxylation. It is basically Arginine with the carboxylic acid end removed. Agmatine is thought to act as a neurotransmitter, a chemical that modulates the activity of cells in your brain, and is also an intermediate product in the synthesis of polyamines, an important chemical for cell growth.
