And go figure why that's so when these batteries are no longer made in Japan but in China. (Excuse me if I'm way off target, but I figure DELL would be lowering their prices . . ..) This GIgantech Li-ion replacement battery ran over two and a half hours on the first try; and, I was watching a movie, which, for those of you who hadn't heard, will drain your battery quite a bit sooner. It comes nicely packaged, easy to install. Weighs what my old Dell weighs, this model has 11.1V, the old Dell, 10.8V. I guess time will be the best judge of how well this battery works-- my old Dell lasted me about 6 years but I didn't use my laptop everyday. I hear these newer ones don't come near that, but, I wanted to see for myself. Anyway, if you go to DELL on line you might be inclined as I was to go with this cheaper version. Read the the enclosed product sheet too to help you care for the battery better -- I learned a lot from it. I was a little hesitant when I was thinking of buying this battery for my laptop, so I used the option of chatting on Walmart.com to chat with a Dell representative. This Dell representative was supposed to answer any questions I had about the product. I asked if this battery was compatible with my laptop. He said it was compatible.
