Two green color dragons contest a fiery pearl amid a striking blue background. The pearl in the middle of the dragons symbolizes the imperial emblem of the Chinese Emperors from the Han period. This gorgeous Chinese dragon wall fan will add color and beauty to any room in your home. It is entirely hand-painted and comes in two sizes. Wisdom and power are the two traits most commonly associated with the dragon. But the dragon was also tied in to the weather. The people of ancient China believed the dragon controlled the weather and the seasons. Offerings were often brought to the place where it was believed the Chinese dragon resided, so it would be appeased and offer good weather and amenable seasons for the people. The Emperors of China made the dragon their official symbol when they saw how the commoners offered their absolute respect to it. However, while the Emperor controlled one kingdom (that of China) the dragon kingdom itself was broken into four main parts. The first was the Dragon King and the Celestial Dragons, who guarded the heavens. Then there were the Spiritual Dragons, who were said to control the wind, rain and ultimately decide on whether men ate or starved. The third kingdom was controlled by the Earth Dragons. These dragons controlled bodies of water and made sure rivers and streams directed safely into the sea. The fourth and final kingdom was the Subterranean Dragon. These dragons lived underground and guarded the greatest treasures of the earth, which included gold, jade and gems. In this way, the dragons' power over the earth was steadfast. While we know today that this is just mythology, most of the people who lived in ancient China believed in dragons. Today the dragon is also viewed as a symbol of power and people all over the world identify with it. This wall fan is our tribute to the mighty dragon and will make for a magnificent decorative appearance on your wall.Feature
