I use a straight razor and I used Barbasol and Gillette products and would always leave razor burn. The oil feels excellent and makes the shave much more enjoyable and smoother then before. For the first time in my life, I have little to no irritation after shaving. Along with my first safety razor, this starter kit allowed me to have a close shave and actually enjoy it! The sandelwood scent is masculine but not overwhelming. All three components make for a fantastic experience. I started pretending to shave when I was a little boy by taking the last of my dad's shaving creme, putting it on my face and then running a butter knife over my face. I was excited to become a man. Then when my beard really did come in, I wasn't so excited anymore. I did everything when I was a teenager to improve my shaving experience, shaving in the shower, use a fancy machine that warms the creme up as it comes out and even shave with just straight water. I have tried various combinations all to try to enrich the experience instead of it being a chore. About 6 years ago I started having these ingrown hairs of death. Instead of a singular follicle coming out of a pour I can now have anywhere from six to twenty follicles! It produces a huge unsightly bump that can ooze, until the hairs become soft enough that I can pluck them. Shaving has become even worse. Being the cheap skate that I am, I put off getting fancy cremes or expensive shavers. I was resigned to my fate. I finally decided to get this kit. The first time I did the 4 Elements of a Shave, I walked away with one of the most comfortable shaves I have ever had. I completely changed in regards to how I feel about shaving. Now I get up 15 minutes earlier every day, just so I can take my time and enjoy one of the benefits of manhood. I highly recommend this product. As a fore warning the badger brush smells how I imagine a badger to smell like.
