I didn't buy them then because of the greenish tint in the lamp shades. When I saw them on sale in December (great price) I had to have them and thought I would just replace the shades. They delivered them with my bed order and I agree with the other comment, the shades are not very good quality. One of them has flaws in the material that run through the shade. They arrived and I un-boxed them and the lamp bases are beautiful! The glass is almost clear, with maybe a slight grayish tint, definitely not what I would consider amber. I wouldn't say the glass is "faceted" but has more of a natural "bubbled" look. The metal parts are dark brown, almost black. There is a little bit of gold highlighting, which is ok. They are a good size, not overwhelmingly large like some I have seen, but big enough to be impressive. I did not care for the shades. Upon first impression, they appeared to be a greenish gold and do not go with the colors in my home. The shades are a nice shape and size, but not a good color. I replaced the shades with the shades off my old lamps which are a neutral beige...and they look much better than the shades that came with the lamps. They look beautiful on my end tables and I am happy with the purchase overall.
