Introduction

Pregnancy tests are designed to tell if your urine or blood contains a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). This hormone is produced right after a fertilized egg attaches to the wall of a woman's uterus.

This usually happens -- but not always -- about six days after fertilization. If you're pregnant, levels of hCG continue to rise rapidly, doubling every two to three days.

Urine tests can be done at home or in a doctor's office. Many women first choose a home pregnancy test to take about a week after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests are private and convenient.

1. Wash your hands with warm water and soap.
2. Remove the testing device from its foil wrapper. Please do the test within one hour when the its foil wrapper is removed.
3. Sit on the toilet and urinate on the testing stick. You should try to use a midstream sample, which means you should pee a little first before you collect any urine insert the stick.
4. Please pee for enough time to make sure that the dye has reached the result area. Then lay the test strip on a flat surface and wait for the colour band to appear.
5. Time taken for display of result directly depends upon the concentration of hCG in the urine specimen. A positive result can be observed within sevaral seconds.

Positive test result: When the test is positive, two distinct bands appear in control and test regions.
Negative test result: A single band indicates negative pregnancy result.
Invalid test result: There may be a time when none of the bands appear, either in control or test area of the strip.

You should know that waiting at least a week after a missed period may give you the most accurate result. Results may also be more accurate if you do the test first thing in the morning, when your urine is more concentrated.
