From Mila Kunis to Reese Witherspoon to Rachel Bilson, celebrities are spotting chic cross body bags slung nonchalantly across their chest. If you love the idea of the cross body bag, but your body type makes a little bit uncomfortable to wear, you’re in luck. There are many tricks you can use to wear the cross body bag without compromising your appearance or being uncomfortable. Large-Chested Modifications For those who are a bit more well endowed up top than most, carrying the cross body bag can be uncomfortable and isn’t very flattering. One way to combat this is to make sure that you’re carrying the bags slightly in front of you. This way the strap does not sink into your cleavage. Instead, the strap will gracefully cross in front of you. Also, you might want to avoid very thin straps. If you have large hips, there’s nothing worse than having your bag bounce up and down on your hip as you walk. This only accentuates what you’re trying to hide. Additionally, if you carry the bag at your side it adds bulk to your hips, which you don’t want. Also, make sure that the strap is not too long. Longer straps make the bag bang around a lot more than you want it to, and this can be very unflattering for anyone, especially those who would prefer to minimize their hips. Instead, carry the bag slightly in front of you, or slightly behind you. By carrying the bag this way, you can still enjoy the hands free capabilities that a cross body bag offers, but you won’t be adding any bulk to your hips. |
