Can I play music from a digital music player other than an iPod or iPhone?

Yes. Although designed for use with an iPod/iPhone, the SoundDock Series III system also features an auxiliary input to attach other audio devices. You can enjoy the same audio performance from another MP3 player, a portable CD player or music phone.

In addition to controlling the SoundDock system, does the remote also control the docked iPod or iPhone?

The custom remote controls the SoundDock Series III system plus basic iPod/iPhone functions: on/off, pause, volume, track seek/scan and playlist navigation.
