The Gola brand was launched in May 22nd 1905 in Leicester. No one is entirely sure how the name came about but it is understood that the word Gola is an anagram of the word Goal which might go someway to explaining the companya€TMs long running association with Football. Gola's first ad campaign for football boots was launched in the mid 30s with the slogan a€œGola mens Goalsa€?. Gola did its bit for Britain by making boots for the army during World War II. In the early 2000a€TMs Gola relaunched themselves as a a€?retroa€TM sports fashion brand. Gola remain as high profile as ever and is the footwear of choice for many people in the public eye such as Paul Weller, Robbie Williams. Jude Law, and Liam and Noel Gallagher.
