Soft to the touch, nice to stand on. They have plastic small trippers on the back so on the tile bathroom floor they don't slip around too much. I read previous reviews and got the impression that these rugs didn't slip, but they do. The rugs are very thick and plush to walk on, but will slip around on tile. Fortunately I had some rubber carpet mats to put under the rugs, and that eliminated the slipping. I really do like the rugs and never considered returning them.
