This is an another great singing bowl that just came in stock. I was just rubbing the wooden mallot around the rim the bowl and makes wonderful sound. All the singing bowl that i have are hand picked by and blessed by one of my monk friend in Kathmandu Nepal. It has raised designs of eight auspicious symbols inside the bowl and OM MANI PADME HUM mantra around the bowl and it measures 3 inches deep and 6.5 inches diameter and weighs 2.11 pounds. Singing bowls were traditionally used throughout Asia as part of Buddhist, Bon and shamanic meditation practice. Today they are used worldwide for meditation, relaxation, healthcare and religious practice. In Buddhist practice, singing bowls are used as a support for meditation and prayer. Singing bowls are played by striking with a soft mallet to produce a warm bell tone and (in the case of genuine antiques) harmonic overtones. They may also be played by the friction of rubbing a wooden mallet around the rim of the bowl to produce overtones.
