I've tried down, Taladay, memory foam & never came close to being happy with hundreds of dollars spent. So I was about to order 2 MyPillows, with the second one free it still would be $100.00.First, thought I'd give Walmart a shot & glad I did. I purchased the Beautyrest solid foam queen size & was happy so then ordered a pair of these. Wish I had come to Walmart originally as I would have saved a lot of money. So Beautyrest has my vote. If you want a truly firm pillow, I suggest the Beautyrest solid foam, if you'd like something firm but pliable, then this shredded foam is the one. It is much softer than I expected for something sold as superfirm. That said ,, it is very much the same as the superfirm from another manufacturer that my girlfriend has.. Bottom line is the first night I slept on it i was out cold and slept thru the night for the first time in years. I also have gotten a few more hours sleep each night as well.. I have recommended this product to my friends, have purchased two and will be purchasing two more. I was tired of purchasing expensive pillows that after awhile went flat and this pillow seemed like a great value. However, this pillow was not firm much less extra firm. It is very soft with only a mild degree of firmness. I wasn't aware the extra firm, which is recommended for side sleepers, was to thick and found I can't use mine as I wake up with a center back ache. My husband on the other hand is happy with his.
