Often, when intense force is applied to a door, the door will split apart in the areas near the door handle latch and/or the deadbolt thereby allowing a previously locked door to open. Look at the end of any entry door where the door handle latch button and the deadbolt stem are located and you will see that most of the door has been ''hollowed out'' in order to make room for the door lock hardware. This makes a door extremely weak in exactly the area of the door that you want it to be the strongest.
The Door Lock Guard reinforces 1 3/4'' thick exterior entry doors by ''clamping'' the locking hardware and the door together. It also has an additional component that makes it virtually impossible to pry the door open.
The Door Lock Guard is powder coated white which gives it a smooth, enamel-like finish (it can also be repainted any color), it''s 4.5 inches long and 3/4 inches wide. It''s made from 14 gauge cold-rolled steel, and it will mount on any 1 3/4'' thick door which almost all residential exterior are.
