Bantayan Crafts Carved Wooden Wind Chimes made from Boat Debris

 

 

Colourful hanging ornaments instantly brighten any space, but these also add a charming melody for your ears.


Each wooden piece is unique with remnants of original paint visible, 


Each piece is simply decorated with a pectum, which is a flat mollusc shell, and an ancient symbol for pilgrims.


This wind-chime is expertly tuned and crafted.



Features and Materials: 



◊ Wood Approx. Size: L 8cm W 1cm H 7.5cm, shaped into a triangle with round corners.


◊ Wood Treatment: The wood used have been exposed to years and years of salt water drenching.
 


◊ Lanyard: Spun natural abacá fibre (unbleached) twine at W 2mm, approx. L 8cm.


Hardy and able to withstand outdoor elements.
 


◊ Sea-Shells: The shells are permitted for export under the CITES Washington Convention 


and the women of Bantayan Island collect the shells themselves from the shoreline.

 
 

◊ String: Thin Nylon Fishing Line


◊ 5 Tubes: Each Chime Cylinder has been individually toned.
