They are comfortable and some what rugged until the get drenched in water. Then they start coming apart . My shoes wore out in about 4 months. I loved not having to tie my shoes. These shoes must be worn with socks. The memory foam will shred if you wear it on your bare feet. I have not tried these new ones. When I buy a pare I will update my review to mention any differences. The last time I went to buy pare they were out of stock. So I bought a pair of Rug gen Oxford Shoes that are laced shoes, which come untied even when double laced. More rugged, but impractical for walking any significant distance. This new version of the shoe will most likely be the next pair I buy. Try it, if it doesn't meet your expectations, it's cheap any way. My actual measured size is 9.5 but need wrangler 10.5 and they are a bit narrow. Other than that they are great.
