Glucosamine
Glucosamine, an amino sugar, is the building block for cartilage. It has been shown to stimulate proteoglycan synthesis by human chondrocytes. Glucosamine supplement is absorbed rapidly from the intestines and transported to connective tissues. It helps the restoration of damaged joint tissues in osteoarthritis. It has anti-inflammatory properties, independently of prostagladin synthesis.

Chondroitin
Chondroitin joins with protein to become proteoglycans. These proteoglycans comprise the ground substances in the extracellular matrix of connective tissue; cartilage.
