Product Description
A drum set is a collection of drums and other percussion instruments that have been set up and configured to be played by a single player. The "traditional" drum kit constists of a mixture of drums and idiophones, but can also include the woodblock and cowbell. Most drummers will expand their kits from the basic setup (snare, bass, hi-hat, tom-tom, cymbals), adding more pieces and other instruments. On the flip side, though quite rare, sometimes pieces will be omited from a setup, depending on the musical style and personal preference. The first recognizable ancestors of the modern drum kit were born during the Vaudeville era. Around the 1890's, experimentation with foot pedals began, and in 1909, Ludwig Ludwig Co. patented the first workable bass drum pedal, which paved the way towards what eventually became the "modern" drum kit. The pieces featured in this laser cut steel model are the bass drum, hanging toms, China cymbal, ride cymbal, hi-hat, snare drum, floor tom, and the drum stool, which was also known as the throne and is where the percusionist sits while playing. The "traditional" drum kit has been immortalized in this Metal Earth 3D laser cut steel model. Fully assembled, the model is approximately 6" in length and 4" wide and 5" high. This is a Silver Edition Metal Earth Model, and features 2 sheets of laser cut pieces.
