It says 800 gram insulation, but insulates more like a 200 gram. It is not an extreme cold weather boot, in my opinion. Anything below 30 degrees and my feel are cold and I have to use the foot warmers you stick to your sock to get through the entire day of hunting. Gives great traction to 'bill goat' the hills. I've walked through3-4" of water and they are waterproof. Not sure of the material (not gortex), but they are durable nd hold up.
