I cook at home, and my son has always been interested in being in the kitchen, sometimes insisting on helping. I was very, very surprised of the quality of this set when I opened it for him. The pots/pans are about 1/2 an inch thick, and could probably withstand a car on top of them without straining. I haven't noticed any paint chipping at all, and my son drops these on the tile floor pretty often. This is a truly high quality product that is very easily worth the price. My wife told me that M&D were a "good" brand, and as such I assumed that the set was upwards of $75 based on the quality.
