The durable yet silky nylon fabric feels great against the skin and is stuffed with ThermoBall insulation--a new synthetic insulation that North Face developed with PrimaLoft. ThermoBall insulation utilizes small round heat-trapping clusters that are closer in structure to down than bulkier standard continuous fill synthetic insulation. ThermoBall is the first type of synthetic insulation to match the warmth-to-weight ratio and packability of down, and its ability to maintain its loft and warmth when wet makes it more versatile than down. The jacket can be packed down into one of the hand pockets, so is easy to stuff into a backpack or luggage. This jacket can be worn on its own or layered under a shell, and thanks to its versatility, can be worn for pretty much any cool-to-cold weather activity.
