EVER!!!4/5/2016Average rating:5out of5stars, based onreviews4/5/2016by nerdseI was a teen when Safeguard appeared on the market (& in our mailbox...most companies sent full-size bars for samples. They'd recently changed the formula aka "new & improved" it, meaning they took a great product & ruined it (some things never change). Ivory got me clean, but within hours, teenaged funk would start to reassert itself. We were desperate. ..but Safeguard? NO aalergy reaction, MAJOR anti-funk protection. ..heck, putting a lather on the rare outbreaks of acne I had, & letting it dry (after I had thoroughly scrubbed my face, neck, & ears), then rinsing the face & scrubbing as I went until the soap was gone, did 90% of the "zit control" - esp. if I put alcohol on my face after. Not wearing makeup, or wearing very little helped, as did washing the face at least 4 times a day (not always with the lather "mask"). The only type of Safeguard that I can't use is the type with aloe..if zi usr that. I'll itch so badly you'd think I was sitting in a patch of poison ivy! I stick with Safeguard...just plain Safeguard, the stuff that managed to keep odor at bay even when they outlawed the deodorant that Safeguard & most other deodorant soaps used, forcing them to use something less effective. Safeguard managed to come up with something better than the other companies. As a kid. I never thought I'd write a product review at all, let alone one thousands of people might read, & be proud & honored to do so, but here I am, doing just that. I hope they never "new & improved!" The original Safeguard. It's like Coke Classic, or real iced tea brewed in boiling water & flavored &/or sweetened, then cooled & iced...it's like the original Hershey bar...or a cold glass of milk & home made Toll House cookies. Those are things you just can't replace. She would send me to take a bath, then come in to check on me. She would always try to scrub off my freckles, telling me I wasn't washing well enough. Since we were both redheads, you'd think she'd understand that freckles don't come off!!!! Aside from my story, this soap may be an oldie, but it's a goodie. It does the job as I expect it to. I couldnt get over at how clean I felt and how soft and smooth my skin was.
