OosterBay supplies 1st grade Tarako from Hokkaido. This traditional Japanese seafood item is made from Pollack Roe and goes really well with spaghetti. Packaged and sold as either 2 or 5 individual pieces of Tarako.

Tarako is actually of finer quality and more expensive than Mentaikobecause only the best Pollack Roe are selected to be made into Tarako. If you like spaghetti and haven't tried it with Tarako before, please know that it is possibly the most delicious ingredient to have with your favourite pasta

Other common ways to enjoy Tarako is to grill it lightly until the middle becomes pinkish and then eat it whole on its own. This version would be an excellent though expensive snack to have with your favourite sake or whisky

If you're Japanese and come across this treat occasionally, you're likely to savour it with a bowl of hot steaming rice or in your chazuke (rice with tea)

This particular Tarako we're offering is the most premium grade from a famous producer in Hokkaido. It is exquisitely presented in a wooden box nicely befitting its premium standard of quality
