Product Description
This is a unique, limited edition deck of cards based on the manifestation of the many faces and forms of Tara, the Tibetan Goddess of Wisdom, Compassion and Power. Following the structure of a traditional Tarot, the deck includes 22 major arcana, 16 court cards and 4 suits of elemental minor arcana. They incorporate traditional Tibetan iconography with photographic images of the beauty in the natural world. All are designed to bring the wisdom of the dharma (truth) into your readings or meditations. This unique deck of cards is based on the many faces and forms of Tara, the Tibetan Buddha Goddess of Wisdom, Compassion and Power. In her legend, Tara was an ordinary woman who practiced the dharma and attained enlightenment. Before entering the Awakened State she vowed to remain in the form of a woman until the end of time to free all beings from suffering The dharma teaches that we have all the qualities of an enlightened being latent within us. We can learn from Tara about our own true wisdom nature. The Tara Wisdom Cards are based on the lineage tradition of the ''The Mandala Dance of the 21 Praises of Tara.'' This dance meditation practice was developed by Prema Dasara with the guidance of several Tibetan teachers. The Tara Dance has been performed by thousands of women of all ages, nationalities, and walks of life. Jessica Zebrine Gray, the designer and artist of the Tara Wisdom Cards, has been studying with Prema and practicing Tara mantras, dances, and visualizations since 1997. She is a level three teacher of the dance, Vice President of the Council of Trustees and the Children''s Educational Resource Director for Tara Dhatu. She took refuge from the Karmapa while on pilgrimage to India and Nepal in 2001. She has danced for and received teachings from many respected Tibetan teachers.
