I work in rain, snow, hot, cold, dry, humid, soil, fertilizers, wood, gravel, sand, mud, ice, water, cement, pavement, paint, salt, ice melt, chemicals, all various angles and positions, construction, lots and lots of walking. Simply put my job really puts gear to the test, I go through gloves like I go through toilet paper. First of all, these boots are very comfortable, and like I said all surfaces all angles and positions, the tops are stiff enough to give protection but flexible enough to not hinder movement or cause rub points on your ankles. The grip is great and the sole is barely worn. I love the thick leather, sole, steel toe, my feet feel invincible. The waterproofing survived one of the craziest Winters we've had in Maine in a few years. But I do need to give the boots some loving now and get them water proof again, my job is wet everywhere always. I've certainly gotten my monies worth from them already, and they were put through some serious tests. Someone else mentioned the leather peeling off the toe, but that is completely normal in a work boot that is used for work, but can be improved with proper boot care. The included picture is my boots fully dried out after working in slush all day and the waterproofing finally giving in. They just need a brushing and some oil.Was this review helpful?Yes (20)No (0)ReportGood boot for the money2/26/2016Average rating:4out of5stars, based onreviews2/26/2016by AnAmericanFamilyThis is a good boot for the price range. I am a stone mason in southwestern Pa. so I work outdoors through all seasons. These boots hold up better than any others I have found in this price range. I have been in construction for 40 plus years so I know how long a boot should last. Even though the description states that these boots are waterproof I recommend spraying them down with a waterproofing spray for added protection. These boots are quite comfortable and that is important to me since I wear my boots every day all day. A co-worker has already wore out a pair of duluth trading boots in less time than these and his boots were triple the price. I know that there are higher quality boots out there but not in this price range. The tread on these boots is good and the leather is stitched well. The pair that I am wearing now has lasted over a year with no issues. I have had these boots in snow, mud, rain and extreme heat so I know they hold up well. I prefer un-insulated boots so that I can wear them through all seasons and these boots have stayed comfortable through those seasons. They give me plenty of ankle support and they lace up tight. I would recommend these to anyone on a budget trying to get the most boot for their money. Was this review helpful?Yes (42)No (1)ReportRead all reviews
