Taiwan Dry Ginger Slice is the top grade of all dried gingers slices in Taiwan. Like our other products this is strictly preservative and pesticide free.
A question that we often get asked about is why eat Dry Ginger when Fresh Ginger is available?
The reason is because we want to focus and concentrate Ginger's benefit. 
Fresh Ginger contains both Gingerol and Shogaol. The 2 critical active ingredients in Ginger.
In Fresh Ginger Gingerol is 10x in content to Shogaol. After heating and drying, Gingergol converts itself to Shogaol.
So Dry Ginger has more Shagaol than Gingerol.
What is the difference?
Gingerol's medicinal effect is well documented. It raises the body's temperature by increasing blood flow. Helps the body overcome headaches, migranes and nausea. When blood vessels are opened and blood flows easier. It aids the body in killing germs and bacteria and helps the secretion of bile.
Shogaol's effect is slightly different. Shogaol increase the body's temperature by making the body digest fats and sugars and delivers the effect that Gingerol does. This raises core temperature to do exactly what Gingerol does but with enhancements which are:
1. Breaks down fats and extra sugars-extra calories thus being burnt up.Result is natural Slimming!!
2. Lowers cholestrol and increases the body's capability to absorb nutrients.

This product is best used for cooking or brewing for a period of time. This is because cooking or boiling allows the product to release its natural tonic, ingredients and flavors.
Best uses for Dried Ginger Slices are:
1. Popular Autumn/Winter Taiwanese dish called Ginger Braised Duck (姜母鴨).
2. Cooking ingredient for meat, seafood and vegetables. When pan-frying, add Dried Ginger Slices to strengthen the aroma and taste of the dish. (a personal favorite of the seller).
3. Direct consumption for health benefits. Used especially by cancer patients. They consume dried ginger slices to overcome nauseousness from cancer treatments. As a booster to also gain warmth in their bodies.
4. Making Concentrated Ginger Tea. Brew 2000cc of water together with about 100g of Dried Ginger Slices for 2.5 hours. This will give you a concentrated Ginger Tea. The Dried Ginger Slice can be boiled 3 times for 3 seperate batches of Concentrated Ginger Tea. Especially comforting for pregnant mothers having morning sickness.
5. To make a quick Ginger Tea, take 3 to 5 pieces of the Dry Ginger Slices in a cup. Add boiling hot water and steep for 3 to 5 minutes for a cup of Hot Ginger Tea.
6. Another purpose our Dry Ginger Slices cab be used for is for slimming. Some users have reported loosing 3KG consuming this together with regular exercise. That's Shogaol and perspiration coming together to really shed extra fats and sugars in the body.


There are 3 process to make the dry ginger.

Step 1: Due to our long cooperation with the actual growers. The best top grade highland gingers are available to us when harvesting arrives. Thus we source and buy the ginger when it is still in the ground. The result is assurance that the gingers are from pesticide free, trusted growers.

Step 2: After harvesting. The Ginger is cleaned, sliced and sun-dried individually. The result is natural sun dried ginger slices that retains its strong natural flavours.

Step 3: Our last process is to actually stir fry the gingers over a low fire. This ensures all remaining moisture content is driven out and original flavours are locked in. The benefit of this process ensures that the ginger slices are clear of micro-organisms.


The steps to make dry Ginger Slices is complex. it takes 100kg of Fresh Ginger to make 8 Kg of Dry Ginger Slices.

台湾本土老姜(竹仔姜或小姜)
竹仔姜(小姜),主要栽作于南投县、台东县、嘉义县、高雄县及新竹县的山区,标高约400~1000公尺,其中以轻松肥沃、土层深厚及排水良好的缓坡地为主,体型较市场常见的肥胖型老姜还细小,肉色鲜嫩香辣,常用于药膳理及姜母鸭料理使用。由于生姜会大量吸取土壤之日月精华,种植后的土地必须轮作其他作物,待7年后才能再行栽种生姜,因此更显弥足珍贵。

干姜的药效比​​生姜好

经过炮制的干姜,其效果更比生姜强大,它所含的姜烯酚是生姜的10倍以上,对于各种病症及身体上的不适更加有效。此外,它对于减肥及体质改善也有绝佳的效果。

具体地来说,姜拥有姜辣素(Gingerol)及姜烯酚(Shogaol)这两种成分,也是姜的功效来源,而生姜中的姜辣素是姜烯酚的数十倍。

使用方法 (Usage Methods)

1. For Health Maintenance (Ginger Tea)



1. Prepare about 1L of water in a pot (in our illustration we used an automatic cooking pot)

2. Prepare about 5g of Dried Ginger Slices.

3. Put Ginger Slices into the Pot of Water.

4. Bring to boil and keep it boiling about 5 mins.

5. Lower the fire down to low (very slow bubbling) and cook for another 90 mins. 

6. Ensure it is covered while boiling.

7. You should have quite a large amount of water left after 90 mins.

9. Add in 3 to 4 Teaspoons of Black Ginger Sugar when near finishing.

10. Lightly Stir before serving or add more Black Ginger Sugar if you find it not sweet enough.



2. For Users who need it for Therapy or intensive use
Brew 1 entire canister of Dried Ginger Slice (100g) in 2L of water in a pot for 2.5 hours. You will get a bowl of extremely rich spicy ginger drink. Reboil 2 other times for a total of 3 servings.


3. For Body warming
Place a slice of Dried Ginger slice in your mouth and chew slowly. The enzymes in the Ginger slice will help to warm up your body slowly.

早先的研究發現,生薑可以減少暈車時及手術後的反胃現象,這次的研究則顯示,它對孕婦似乎也有相同的功效。
