OUR STORY

Thereu2019s no denying it: thereu2019s something intoxicating about aquality candle.

The delicate scent filling your home, the flame casting dancingshadows on your walls. More than merely a way to light a room, candles can be hypnotic, cathartic, and a wonderful source ofmindfulness.

That was our starting point when we sparked into life in March2010.

We decided early on to stay away from paraffin candles--not onlydoes paraffin have little scent and burn too fast, but as apetroleum product it can also be harmful for the environment; wealso rejected soy candles as not holding enough scent and notburning cleanly and properly.  Natural beeswax with its soundenvironmental credentials and superior burning performance was thepreferred choice, however when the material comes fresh from thebeehive it retains its impurities, such as pollen, and debris, notgiving us the pure, high-quality wax we needed.

It was a tricky problem for sure, but after much time spent inour kitchen trying to combine various forms of beeswax with ouressential oils under varying temperatures, pressures, and otherconditions, we found a light in the darkness.

We found that 100% USP Pharmaceutical-grade beeswax canhold essential oil scents beautifully!  By melting andstraining the beeswax through increasingly smaller filters, allimpurities are removed, leaving the perfect high-quality wax forour candles.  Best yet, while many candles use bleaches andchemicals to achieve a natural color, our pure white beeswax doesnot undergo any unnatural processes.

Over time we have refined and perfected our manufacturingtechnique, until we were able to produce a luxurious collection ofcandles in every scent you can imagine. And the rest, as they say,is history.

OUR PROCESS

our candles are 100% made in the USA, and we are proud to helprevive the American traditions of innovation and craftsmanshipwhile supporting the nationu2019s dedicatedbeekeepers.

Sadly, in recent years beekeepers have been reportingsignificant losses in their colony count, with some reporting tohave lost up to 90% of their hives. Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD)is a real and ever-present threat to Nature's most industriouspollinator.

No one is sure what is the cause of CCD, although it issuspected that pesticides, parasites and pathogens are the mostlikely causes. To support our beekeepers, we therefore donate aportion of profits from our candle sales to researching the cause, and possible curing, of CCD.

OUR SUCCESS

Itu2019s been a long journey, but like any good candle weu2019ve burnedbright and strong.

In 2013 we were invited by the organizers of the Screen ActorsGuild awards program to include our products in the gift bagspresented to each actor, producer and director, meaning a slew ofhousehold names got to enjoy our beautiful candles--many of whom weare still lucky enough to call our customers to this day.

Outside of Hollywood fame, we have also been selected byMeissen--the world-famous porcelain maker--to use their containersfor our candles, demonstrating just how highly regarded ourproducts are.
