Boat Quay

The Singapore River Cruise will be cruising along Boat Quay which is one of the many area that it will cruising pass. This quay marks the start of Singapore's affluence. Barely 100 years ago. labourers known as coolies and swaylos balanced heavy gunny sacks of rice and walked on springy planks, loading and unloading produce for trade. Boat Quay was a hothouse for trading. In the 1860s, 75% of all trading in Singapore was conducted there.

In present Singapore, Boat Quay is a colorful watering hole for tourists. Enjoy intoxicating cocktails and international cuisine in the cosmopolitan bars and thematic restaurants that punctuate the sides of the Singapore River only on the Singapore River Cruise.

Although not bustling with goods trading anymore, Clarke Quay is still abuzz with actiity today. Soak yourself in the modern mix of colorful lights, restaurants, clubs, bars and retail shops that make up the huge night entertainment bazaar.
