2'' x 60 yards (55 Meters, 180'') Gaffers Tape is a much heavier cloth tape designed with versatility and removal in mind. This tape is superb for holding down cords or rugs in high traffic areas to help avoid trip hazards. It was primarily designed for use in the entertainment industry where light reflection is a concern. Gaffers tape features a lower light reflectance backing which is ideal for video, concert, photo studio, or AV production. Plus, with its rubber adhesive that sticks to a variety of surfaces, it is perfect for holding cords and cables down on a stage or set. However, it also works exceptionally well in other applications where cloth duct tapes excel.
The vinyl coated, high strength, non-reflective matte finished backing is very flexible and easy to tear by hand. The high strength backing is also UV and abrasion resistant while conforming well to irregular surfaces. It can also withstand tough applications that might put tensile stress on the tape.
While this tape is primarily used for holding cords and cables, it also performs extremely well in protection applications where high abrasion or wear is expected. Adhesion and general performance are best at room temperature, but for a short duration of up to 1 hour this tape will function properly at temperatures up to 200 degrees F.
Please NOTE: Surfaces should be as clean, dust free, and dry as possible before application. While the surface of the tape is moisture resistant the adhesive is definitely not. The adhesive is pressure sensitive and heat activated. Make sure you really press it firmly into place when applying and get it as warm as possible in the room to secure the adhesive. The dryer and warmer the installations are, the better the adhesive will attach.
