Benefits of MediSafe

A basic requirement for all car seats is that they have to be safe. The safety for car seats is ensured by the ECE 44/04 norm, that is tested by authorized testing facilities. However, babies and children spend a lot of time in a car seat. Thus, safety is not enough. Against this background, the idea for the development of the MediSafe line was that car seats also have to be very comfortable for the babies and children. Especially, they have to be valuable from a medical point of view. Therefore, the MediSafe line was developed together with German orthopedics, where Dr. Schandelmeier was involved. In particular, the MediSafe line differs from other car seats in the market by having special features that are medically valuable and offer a high comfort:

1. In addition to the normal foam that is between the cover and the base, MediSafe car seats have a 1.5 cm memory foam. Memory foam is a special kind of foam that has an open-cell structure that reacts to body heat and weight by ‘moulding’ to the person’s body, helping relieve pressure points, preventing pressure sores, etc.

2. All MediSafe seats are covered with air mesh material. Air mesh is a three dimensional material composition that is very breathable. Air mesh allows a very fast drying and enough air supply all the time. Thus, air Mesh makes babies and children feel more comfortable in the car seat. By the way, air mesh is also used for functional clothing.

3. In addition to these two features that all of our seats in the MediSafe line have, our seats have some special features that are medically valuable. For example, the baby carrier “Cocomoon” has different tilt-positions. Thus, it allows babies coming up from a lying position to a more upright position. (Our baby carrier is the only one in the market that has this upright position, which is patented). On the one side this upright position enables babies to get out from a “passive” position into an “active” position that allows them to get impressions from their environment and communicate with it. This in fact has a positive effect on the mental development of the baby as it is not just passively lying in the baby carrier but gets really active. On the other side, when babies are growing and can get up by themselves, it is healthier for them not to stay all the time in the flat position but also to get up in an upright position.

These above described benefits (that are a result of a cooperation with German orthopaedics) make the MediSafe line be different from other seats in the market and justify a price premium against simple baby car seats.
