Flimsy for a mid-priced trimer8/24/2014Average rating:1out of5stars, based onreviews8/24/2014by PeekCritqueReviewsWhile the blades cut well and the battery holds a good charge, the quality of the attachments is disappointing for a mid-priced shaver. The biggest flaw is the trim guard. While the settings offer many trim lengths, the flimsy plastic guard bends easily under normal pressure so the guard does not give an even trim. The guard seems designed for long straight trims (neck and cheek), but is not good with curves or softer skin (mouth, chin, jaw...). Because the guard covers only the top of the blade, (not the front of the blade) when pivoting the trimmer on curves, the front can easily cut too close because there is no guard on the front. The nose and ear trimmer works nicely but the mini-shaver foil cuts no closer than the naked trimmer. If you are considering a mid-priced trimmer hoping to avoid a cheap quality product, this is not the trimmer for you. The plastic is thin, the on-off button is not solid, and the guard bends under normal use. However, I was disappointed from the start. It cuts well, looks cool, and charges fast. The real issue comes when cutting. I like to leave my facial hair at a size 2. When I started cutting at the size 2 setting, it was almost as if the guard wasn't there - 1st big chunk of hair gone. I increased the setting to a 5 and cut some more. Depending on the angle I held the shaver, it would not cut. I tilted it a bit more and whoops - chunk number 2 gone. Unfortunately, this has not changed in 4 cuts. I guess it will take some time getting used to it. Luckily, my facial hair grows back fairly quick.
