虎头鞋上一虎头，因虎是“百兽之王”，故虎头中间绣一个“王”字。通常在小儿满周岁或生日时穿新做的虎头鞋。民间认为，这样可为小孩壮胆、避邪。也有祝愿小孩长命百岁之意。


Tiger Shoes is a MUST during Baby 1 year old birthday. As Tiger is considered King of Beast, Chinese believe that by wearing th one on baby's first birthday, it will ward off all evils, and give courage to the baby.

The procedure is to let the baby wear the shoe after cutting cake, and before 抓周. If you are planning to let your baby step on Giant Ang Ku Kueh, then the procedure will be:

1) Cut Cake
2) Step on Giant Ang Ku Kueh
3) Put on Tiger Shoe
4) 抓周

Tiger Shoes come in two Types:

1) Open Toe Type - Shoe Length 12cm
2) Covered Toe Type - Shoe Lenth 11.5cm

Home Made and handcrafted Giant Ang Ku Kueh for baby 1 year old birthday Chinese Traditional Celebration. Size approximately 7 inch in length. It is a Chinese tradition to let baby step on Giant Ang Ku Kueh, to signify Health and Longevity. Outside confectionery shop is only selling palm sized Ang Ku Kueh, where you need to buy two in order for baby to step on. However, the original tradition is actually to step on only ONE (see photo). But you will not be able to find anyone to supply you this GIANT sized Ang Ku Kueh as it has to be handcrafted without using mold.
