The asics gel-kayano trainer originally released in 1993, designed and marketed for the high-performance runner. The inspiration for the iconic trainer stems from the tough armored shell of stag beetles, as seen in the stability-enhancing molded upper side panels, and the unique horn designs on the outsole. The heel collar is lined with a mono sock and rearfoot protector for even more comfort and support. Today, the kayano's legacy is alive and well, having given rise to a tradition of refined running footwear over 20 years, while the original remains an everlasting classic for asics tiger thanks to an endless combination of color combinations and materials.
