The head of a stethoscope is the end that you press directly on the patient
A dual-head stethoscope is one that has a head that can be used on both sides (you can rotate it in 360°). Each side is shaped like a bell, hence it’s called a bell
The smaller bell is a more focused exploration of sound in a smaller area (for blood pressure taking & listening to the heart beat)
The bigger side of the bell (with the diaphragm) is used to listen to a less focused area -the lungs
