What is Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA)?

Alpha-lipoic acid, also known as thioctic acid, is made by the body in small amount and is found in every cell. It is an antioxidant that attacks “free radicals”, and converts glucose into energy. Besides, it can also recycle vitamin C and vitamin E, thereby enhancing their antioxidant activities.
