I also bought soft white daylight LED blubs (from Walmart) and put them into the lamps. I needed better lighting in my kitchen. The original light mounted on the ceiling was a 70s style upside down cake looking thing that produced a very dim lit kitchen. >:(I placed the Mainstays Goose Neck Desk Lamps on top of my "L" shaped kitchen cabinets. Two on one side and two on the other side. I have them with the bending goose neck coming over the top of the cabinets about 2 inches from the top edge, and the light is facing downward onto the countertops. It looks fantastic, and the lighting it's producing is beautiful & bright. Now I can see my entire kitchen, including the inside of the cupboards and the red lamps match my kitchen small appliances & decor.
