I am really fortunate to receive PR samples (they make all the reviews I do possible on a student budget!) but usually when they arrive I am so excited for myself to try them. When the Bioderma Atoderm Shower Gel* and Bioderma Atoderm Nourishing Cream* arrived, I couldn’t wait for my boyfriend to test them out. As I’ve mentioned before, he has really dry skin, which is exactly what this line of Bioderma products targets. That said, I feel like in the winter months–which yes, it definitely still feels like at least where I live–everyone can use a little extra moisture.

My boyfriend is actually using a really rich moisturizing Dove shower gel at the moment, so I ended up being alone in testing out the Bioderma Atoderm Shower Gel. For starters, I just love the packaging, which is simple but something about the crisp blue liquid and the pump is just so lovely. It’s soap-free, and incredibly gentle on the skin. Although it is definitely not drying, I wouldn’t say it is especially moisturizing either so following up with a lotion is definitely still necessary. I think this would be an excellent choice for sensitive skin.

To pair with the shower gel, there’s the Bioderma Atoderm Nourishing Cream. Again, this large bottle has excellent pump packaging. While the shower gel is described as for dry skin, this is listed for dry to very dry, and I think that is represented with how moisturizing it is. This is a fantastic gentle but effective lotion, with a very light ‘clean’ scent. Although my boyfriend’s skin isn’t totally healed from using this, he does find applying it helps minimize the itchiness he feels from how dry it is. I personally find it definitely meets the ‘nourishing’ criteria, it applies a bit greasy but quickly absorbs in and leaves my skin feeling really soft.

I have beenhappy with the Bioderma Atoderm Shower Gel and Nourishing Cream. In particular, I find the Bioderma Atoderm Nourishing Cream quite soothing, and the fact that it’s doing something to help my boyfriend makes me even happier! What a nice surprise benefit of beauty blogging.
