The Samsung Wireless Charging Cover replaces your Galaxy S5 existing battery cover and charges the battery wirelessly by placing your smartphone directly on top of any Qi certified and compatible wireless charging base (sold separately). The Qi (pronounced "chee") is a global standard for inductive charging. The Wireless Charging Cover charges at 760 mAh which is a little more than charging over the USB 2.0 from a computer, but less than the 2A wall charger that comes with your Galaxy S5.
Like its non-wireless counterpart, it features a rubber seal to maintain the Galaxy S5 IP67 water-resistant properties. However, there are a few differences with the Samsung Wireless Charging Cover that you might want to consider: it does add bulk with its 10mm thickness compared to 7.6mm for its non-wireless counterpart. If you think about it it's not that much, but it does make a difference especially with the flash and fingerprint sensor where they are slightly recessed into the cover. This extra bulk will not allow any other third-party covers available on the market to fit in, unless they are specifically designed for the Galaxy S5 with this Wireless Charging Cover on.
